Dr. Deana Midmer, RN, EdD, is an Associate Professor and Research Scholar in the Department of Family & Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. She has expertise in educational evaluation research and a particular interest in psychosocial issues. Dr. Midmer has received large grants from private foundations, Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. In 2007, Dr. Midmer received a lifetime achievement award from the Lawson Foundation.

Dr. Midmer is lead Investigator of a CNETS Canada Psycho-Social Research Project which is exploring patient perspectives on the diagnosis and management of Neuroendocrine Tumours. This group has identified an academic research strategy that will include both qualitative and quantitative research projects, with subsequent publishing of findings in medical professional journals, as well as production of Continuing Medical Education programs for health care providers.
