Shirleen Chase earned her diploma in nursing at the Los Angeles County/University of California School of Nursing and subsequently her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the California State University in Fullerton. She then went on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she received her Master’s in Nursing in May 1998.
Currently she is a lecturer at the Vanderbilt School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner within the division of Surgical Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her areas of interest include gastrointestinal malignancies, soft tissue tumors as well as neuroendocrine tumors. She serves on several boards related to advanced practice nursing.
Ms. Chase has been involved in the management of neuroendocrine tumors since 1998 when she began working as a nurse practitioner with the Digestive Disorder Clinic in Chattanooga Tennessee.
