Dr Reid graduated MB ChB in 1977 from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. After preregistration appointments in Glasgow in 1977-78 he trained in Nuclear Medicine at University of Toronto 1978-82 with further training in radiology at the University of Calgary from 1982-84.

He was certified as a specialist in Nuclear Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1983 and as a specialist in Nuclear Medicine by the General Medical Council in the UK in 1989.

He was Nuclear Medicine Consultant at Ottawa Civic Hospital and Assistant Prof at the University of Ottawa from 1984-89 and Consultant to Ottawa regional Cancer Centre from 1985-89, and also the National Defence Medical Centre.

He received Gold and Bronze medals at the Society of Nuclear Medicine Meeting in San Francisco in 1988 for his presentation on head injury and cerebral perfusion imaging.

Since 1989 he has been Nuclear Medicine physician at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario, until promoted to Associate Professor in 1996 at the University of Western Ontario.

He has publications on Cerebral Perfusion Imagery and Cerebral Trauma.

For the past eight years Dr Reid has been involved in development of radioisotope therapies for treatment of bone pain in metastatic disease.

He is a member of the Neuroendocrine Treatment Clinic at the London Health Sciences Centre and London Regional Cancer Program. This is the referral centre for patients across Canada for treatment of Neuroendocrine Tumours.

Dr Reid’s outside interests include Aviation Archaeology and he has articles published and has been cited in books and articles on Aviation History.
